MSc Gastronomy

Since 2014, when the degree was first launched, I have been part of MSc Gastronomy team at Queen Margaret University – what is gastronomy as we understand it in this degree? It aims to talk about food in all its complexity, from food production, systems, culture and communication to science, in this degree students explore what food is, can be and what it means to us.

I am teaching modules that focus on food, culture and communication, as well as research methods in food studies. Every summer, I also supervise student dissertations.

My colleague Donald Reid explains all about this degree here.

Below is a video in which we introduced Gastronomy in 2015 – you can see my colleagues, students and also my own acting debut!
